Mort and Ray Productions is pleased to announce the Mario Lanza Vocal Competition to be held on Sunday, May 27th. The competition will be held on an outdoor stage on Broadway and 86th Street in Manhattan. It will begin at 2:00 pm.

The men’s division is open to tenors and baritones and the women’s division is open to sopranos. Up to 15 singers will compete in each division.

Each contestant should prepare two operatic selections. There will be professional accompaniment.

A panel of judges will select a winner for each division.

Winners will receive $250 each and will have the opportunity to perform at the Feast of San Gennaro in New York City’s Little Italy in September 2012, where they will receive an additional $250.

They must be submitted no later than May 14, 2012.

Applications are pre-screened and slots are filled on a first come basis.
